BHP Billiton Ltd. has reported strong interim results for half year ended 31 December 2010 with net income (excluding special items) of $10.5 billion, almost double from $6.1 billion in the first half of fiscal 2010. Earnings per ADR, excluding special items, also grew to $1.89 from $1.10 in the first half of fiscal 2009.

Revenues increased 45.8% to $32.35 billion from $22.20 billion in the first half of fiscal 2010. Adjusted EBIT and EBITDA were $14.8 billion $17.3 billion, compared with $8.5 billion and $10.8 billion respectively.
