SEATTLE, Aug. 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Ascend Health Corporation announced the acquisition of Schick Shadel Hospital, an addiction treatment hospital, located in Seattle. Founded in 1935, Schick Shadel Hospital is one of the oldest hospitals exclusively focused on substance abuse therapy. With over 60,000 patients treated, Schick Shadel has established a strong track record with industry leading success rates in excess of 60%.

Schick Shadel Hospital uses chemical aversion therapy to treat alcohol and drug addiction in an inpatient setting. Patients are treated for 10 days with follow up visits at 30 and 90 days. Therapy programs are individualized and continually monitored with adjustments made to ensure that patient needs are met. Unlike other treatment programs, Schick Shadel patients can have outside contact with family and work during their stay. Most insurance plans are accepted.
