Logitech International (LOGI) has signed an agreement with GN Netcom to firm its base in the Unified Communications (UC) market. As per the agreement, beginning July 2011, Logitech will offer select products from the award-winning line of Jabra headsets and speakerphones through distribution channel partners in North America.

Logitech will be offering the Jabra headsets under the co-branded name ‘Logitech powered by Jabra.’ In addition, the two companies also plan to carry out their partnership of offering the Jabra products internationally. Further, the two companies also intend to work together on the development of future audio peripherals for the UC market.

Jabra is a well established brand of GN Netcom and markets a broad range of hands free solutions for mobile phones, contact centers and Unified Communications. GN Netcom is the world’s leading headset manufacturer.

Jabra is already an established player and is also the leader in the UC space. This agreement with Logitech allows GN Netcom to further expand its presence in the North American market. Management believes that this agreement will lead to increased availability and use of Jabra headsets and speakerphones thereby providing complete UC solutions.

Unified communications(UC) is the integration of real-time communication services such as instant messaging, presence information, telephony, video conferencing, data sharing, call control and speech recognition and includes non-real-time communication services such as unified messaging.

The agreement with GN Netcom will help Logitech to become a full solution provider for the UC market. According to management at Logitech, businesses will now have a single company for a full range of UC solutions from the meeting room with LifeSize video conferencing end points and infrastructure products to PCs, Macs and tablets with Logitech webcams, headsets and speakerphones.

Logitech International S.A. is a global leader in peripherals for personal computers and other digital platforms, developing and marketing innovative products in PC navigation, Internet communications, digital music, home-entertainment control, video security, interactive gaming and wireless devices.
