Deal promises shoppers greater selection of affordable healthy foods

SCARSDALE, NY, June 15, 2011 /PRNewswire/ – Natural food retailer Mrs. Greenʼs
Natural Market (“Mrs Greenʼs”) is pleased to confirm it has acquired
seven Super Fresh grocery locations in Maryland and one Super Fresh
location in Washington, DC from Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Co.

Following all necessary approvals, Mrs. Greenʼs seeks to upgrade
locations and expand product and service offerings to better meet the
needs of shoppers who are increasingly demanding more produce and food
choices, including healthy and nutritious prepared meals, natural,
local and organic foods. “This investment is part of a strategy to grow
our concept in under-served regions,” says Matt Williams, CEO of parent

several options in Maryland and Washington DC, and this acquisition is
