Selwyn Basin Gold District
The Selwyn Basin Gold District is a significant new emerging gold district in the Yukon. The recent discovery of Atac Resources’ (ATC:TSX.V) Osiris project in the area has proven the district’s potential to host gold mineralization. The 7,805 quartz claims in this area have been acquired to cover large areas which have been identified as prospective based on an analysis of the extensive regional geochemical stream sediment survey data of the Yukon Government combined with observations on the geological, stratigraphic, and structural controls of the mineralization in this newly emerging district. In particular, the stream sediment survey data indicated areas with anomalous concentrations of one or more of the important pathfinder elements; Gold, Arsenic, Mercury, and Antimony. These data combined with visual observation of alteration cells guided this staking program.
