Green Energy Corp Receives Funding From Colorado Governor’s Energy Office

PR Newswire

DENVER, July 28, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — Green Energy Corp, a Colorado-based software company that enables traditional and emerging power providers to move to the Smart Grid, today announced that it has been awarded $2,000,000 in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding from the Colorado Governor’s Energy Office Revolving Loan Fund.

The Governor’s Energy Office (GEO) Revolving Loan Fund Program has approved a $2M loan that will provide working capital for Green Energy Corp to continue development and marketing of the GreenBus Smart Grid software platform. Green Energy Corp, recently named a 2011 Colorado Companies to Watch awardee, has developed the GreenBus to help power utilities modernize their operations, increase their efficiency and automate many processes.

“Green Energy Corp’s exciting software technology can help lead the transformation of our electric power sector, enabling superior environmental performance and reducing costs to consumers,” said TJ Deora, executive director of the GEO. “The Governor’s Energy Office is proud to be able to support the acceleration of its growth by providing low-cost financing, helping Green Energy Corp create more jobs in Colorado.”

GreenBus provides a pathway for utilities and microgrid operators to incrementally adopt smart technology without disrupting the performance of today’s infrastructure. For example, the advanced functionality inside GreenBus allows these power providers to easily integrate renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, and biomass and better manage electric vehicles.

“This funding from the state confirms Colorado‘s commitment to clean technology and to entrepreneurship,” said Peter Gregory, CEO of Green Energy Corp. “We are grateful to be making a difference by enabling utilities and microgrid operators to use less carbon-based fuel while creating new local jobs in Colorado.”
