European Cell Manufacturer Buys GAMA-Solar Production Equipment from Akrion Systems

ALLENTOWN, Pa., June 16, 2011 /PRNewswire/ — Akrion Systems LLC (“Akrion Systems”), a supplier of advanced surface preparation processes and equipment for microelectronics and solar device manufacturers, received an order for high volume solar production equipment through its subsidiary Akrion Solar, Inc. valued at over $5.0 (USD) million from a European manufacturer of highly efficient solar cells.

The equipment will supply texturization, advanced cleaning and surface conditioning capabilities and will be installed later this year in the customer’s new facility. Among the many sophisticated technologies utilized by the equipment are Akrion Systems’ patented ICE-1™ concentration monitoring and control system for optimized chemical bath performance as well as the company’s advanced drying technology.
