FLIR Systems, Inc. (FLIR) Beats Q4 Earnings and Revenues – Tale of the Tape

Zacks

Incorporated in 1978, FLIR Systems, Inc. (FLIR) is an Oregon-based corporation, which specializes in designing, manufacturing and marketing of thermal imaging systems. Its products are used in a wide variety of applications in commercial, industrial and government markets, both international and domestic. The company offers a variety of system configurations to suit specific customer requirements.

FLIR’s core strength in providing reliable and effective imaging and threat-detection technologies has been bolstering its growth momentum.

This is especially true given the recent earnings estimate revisions for FLIR, as the consensus estimate has moved up in the last few months. However, in the last four trailing quarters, FLIR has reported a negative average earnings surprise of 2.10%, beating the estimates once.

Currently, FLIR has a Zacks Rank#3 (Hold) but that could change following its fourth quarter and 2014 earnings report which has just released. We have highlighted some of the key details from the just-released announcement below:

Earnings: FLIR beats on earnings. Adjusted earnings per share (including stock based compensation) came in at 52 cents, higher than the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 49 cents.

Revenue: Revenues of $434.4 million came above the Zacks Consensus Estimate of $419 million.

Key Stats: FLIR’s innovative growth strategies and new product launches drove the profitability.

Stock Price: Shares prices did not show any movement in the pre-market trading session.
