Kitco News speaks with Miranda Gold CEO Ken Cunningham to find out how his company is coping with lower gold prices. “As we move forward, there’s going to be declining production [in the mining sector] and ultimately that’s going to turn this market around,” he tells Daniela Cambone. “I think gold could go under $1,100 but I think it’s going to start creeping back up slowly.” Cunningham also comments on his recent joint venture with Gold Torrent at the Willow Creek Project in Alaska. Gold Torrent will spend about $10 million to move the project into production and Cunningham says this will be a ‘game-changer’ for Miranda. He also says his company has an ‘open door’ now that juniors and majors have cut their exploration activities. Tune in now to hear what he has to say about peak discoveries and whether or not he thinks the mining industry can survive this downtrend. Kitco News, November 18, 2014.
