The U.S. budget and debt ceiling issues has moved to the front burner of the market place as the U.S. approaches its borrowing limit in mid-October. “I’m betting there will be a debt ceiling extension,” Hug says. “I’m skeptical on the strength of this market however. I don’t see a lot of conviction to take these prices higher.” This issue may be bearish for most markets but for gold traders, the question is whether the yellow metal will sell off or rally.
