WASHINGTON, May 14, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — David E. O’Ryan, President and Co-Founder of Advanced Technology & Marketing Group LLC, was a speaker on a panel of automotive supply chain industry experts at the 2012 Technology Market Summit held today at American University in Washington, DC. Other speakers at the Summit included:

  • Lisa P. Jackson, Administrator, Environmental Protection Agency
  • Tom Vilsack, Secretary, U.S. Department of Agriculture
  • John Bryson, Secretary, U.S. Department of Commerce
  • Ron Kirk, U.S. Trade Representative
  • Neil Kerwin, President, American University

In an automobile supply chain discussion session during the Summit, O’Ryan and fellow leading expert speakers explored barriers and solutions related to technology and protection of technologies, policy and finance in the automotive supply chain.

“I would urge that the leaders at this conference and throughout business incorporate ‘Disruptive’ Technologies and voluntary actions that embrace innovation through technology, as a means of improving the automobile supply chain manufacturing process, rather than just dealing with systems and their resulting waste streams through regulatory action. Let’s work together to open that dialogue and find a better way for the future,” O’Ryan said.

O’Ryan added, “Through organizations like the Suppliers Partnership for the Environment (SP), a collaborative effort supported by a number of automotive OEMs, their suppliers along with the engagement of the US EPA, technologies and services are being identified and created that meet quality requirements for the automotive industry, are more cost efficient and improve the environment.”

“We owe it to ourselves as business leaders and citizens to embrace the goal and merits of sustainability recognizing that if we do it in the right way, we can stimulate job growth while creating new careers and opportunities for today and future generations,” he continued. “But, in order to reach such a goal we must approach manufacturing challenges and opportunities with imagination, creativity and energy with the engagement of those who can make a difference. It takes vision, knowledge and effective business processes and commitment to create the technologies and businesses that will create jobs and a sustainable automotive sector,” O’Ryan concluded.
