Ericsson Billing Software to Aid Serbian Telecom Operator

Ericsson’s (ERIC) Charging and Billing in One solution software suite was recently selected by leading Serbian telecom operator Telekom Srbija. By implementing this software, the Serbian operator aims to improve its business support system and service flexibility for customers. This marks the final step in the transformation of Telekom Srbija’s business support systems that began in 2011.

The latest deal also highlights a significant accomplishment for Ericsson, the provider of comprehensive charging and billing solutions for more than two million subscribers across the globe.

Per the contract, Ericsson’s Charging and Billing in One solution software will provide Telekom Srbija’s customers real-time control over their spending, which is likely to enhance their satisfaction. Moreover, this software will allow the telecom operator greater flexibility to provide services like incentive programs, discounts, cross-service bundles, targeted campaigns and differentiated tariffs to customers.

Ericsson seems to be a prudent choice, considering its leading position as a provider of flawless operations support system (“OSS”) and business support systems (“BSS”) across diverse geographies. For almost last two decades, Ericsson has been successfully providing software suites, and state-of-the-art consultation and system integration services to its clients, helping them adjust to dynamic market forces.

Ericsson has pioneered the technique of real-time charging capability, thus enabling operators to enhance customer experience, foster efficiency and tap innovative sources of revenue. In a nutshell, Ericsson has enabled telecom operators to be highly agile with its combined OSS/BSS software. The company’s long-running partnership with Telekom Srbija has been beneficial for the Serbian operator in the past as well. Ericsson is likely to continue expanding its market share by providing such comprehensive billing solutions to other operators in the future.
