Leading radio frequency solutions supplier Anadigics Inc. (ANAD) is supplying power amplifiers to Samsung Electronics for its new GALAXY Note 4. Anadigics has supplied wireless connectivity in each of the past three generations of the eminent product line.
The company is shipping production volumes of its ALT6735 ProEficient-Plus power amplifiers (PA), which offer the industry's highest combined efficiency. The device, GALAXY Note 4, features a 5.7" Quad HD Super AMOLED display, a 16 megapixel camera with optical image stabilization and Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. Such features necessitate highly efficient power consumption and strong battery performance.
Aadigics’ differentiated ProEficient-Plus solutions enable large-screen mobile devices to maximize talk time and data use, thus offering users an unmatched multimedia experience. These amplifiers employ the company’s patented InGaP-Plus technology, which combined with inventive design architectures, boosts battery efficiency.
These amplifiers can also be used with an external switch mode power supply, in applications using average power tracking, to further enhance efficiency and lessen current consumption at low and medium operating powers.
Its remarkably low quiescent currents maximize battery life, and extend talk time and data use. They deliver excellent linearity to ensure reliable and faster 3G and 4G internet speeds with rising amounts of data. Its radio frequency (“RF”) matching has been optimized for output power, efficiency and linearity in a 50-Ohm system.
Additionally, its compact package with internal voltage regulation and integrated DC blocks on the RF ports reduce PCB (Printed Circuit Board) space requirements.
Anadigics’ product portfolio also includes tuner integrated circuits, line amplifiers, active splitters, and other components for the broadband wireless and wireline communications markets. The company focuses on handsets and infrastructure equipment in the lucrative wireless markets.
