TORONTO, July 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ – Wayne Bassett, president and CEO of
Samuel, Son & Co., Limited, today announces the acquisition of Basic
Stainless Inc. a service center operating from an 80,000 square foot
facility in Marshfield, Wisconsin with branches in Green Bay, Wisconsin
and Minneapolis, Minnesota. Basic Stainless will continue Samuel’s
expansion into the US market.

Basic Stainless will operate as Basic Stainless, a division of Samuel,
Son & Co. Inc. with Jim Young, the former owner, as general manager
reporting to Al Bromley, president of Samuel, Son & Co. Inc. The
addition of Basic Stainless will bring to seven the number of Samuel
locations in the Midwest region. Basic Stainless will immediately
expand its current inventory of stainless sheet, plate, bar, pipe and
tube and add aluminum products in grade of 3003, 5052 and 5086. In the
near future, we will be adding carbon flat rolled products such as
coated and pre-paint.

Samuel brings a significant supply chain and product expertise to Basic
Stainless which when combined with their existing customer base and
sales experience will serve to increase and strengthen our presence in
the Midwest.

Stainless to the Samuel family.
